Director of Bands

Chris Barnum is the Director of Bands at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, IL, a position he has held since 2006. At Prospect, Mr Barnum serves as director of the marching band, symphonic band, concert band, musical pit orchestra, and instructor of harmony and arranging. Under his direction, both the marching and concert bands have been recognized for excellence at the local, state, and regional level. Mr Barnum has received the National Band Association Citation of Excellence on 6 occasions. Mr Barnum's professional affiliations include the Illinois Music Educator’s Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the National Band Association.

These instructors attend rehearsals in the summer and fall. Each brings a great deal of knowledge in his or her area of expertise.

Prospect Band Boosters

Prospect Band receives strong parental support through the Prospect Band Boosters, which assists the Director with procuring and maintaining uniforms, arranging transportation, logistics, food and lodging, chaperoning events, fundraising, publicity, and other activities.

Private Lesson Staff
